President's message for July 2023
|
Summer is here, and that probably means you are thinking of grilled burger and a cool drink on a nice pleasant evening. Well that is exactly what we were thinking also. So, when your celebrating the Fourth of July, and watching those brightly colored fireworks in the sky, this will be a reminder to you that you are blessed to live in America, and more importantly, you did not miss the Men’s Ministry monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month because it has been moved this time one week later to the 11th of July.

Come join us on 11th for our summer BBQ at the Holy Family Picnic Area and an evening of comradery and perhaps a grill technique demonstration. As always, this gathering is open to all men of the parish, and we look forward to your participation
|

Mission San Jose 226th Anniversary Weekend Celebration 8 AM Mass Pancake breakfast
|
Just three weeks after a succesful Family of Faith Ministry picnic hamburger and hot dog BBQ, the Men of Saint Joseph were at it again serving up a free pancake breakfast after the 8 AM Mass as part of the weekend long 226th anniversary of the founding of Mision San Jose celebration.

There was plenty of food for all due a low turn out – too many activities after all the Masses that weekend. The men in blue served up unlimited pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and coffee to those who ventured into the Mission patio garden after Mass.

Parish Cleanup Saturday, June 18
|
The Men's Ministry did their bit on the Friday before by consolidating the Environiment and Art Ministry's supplies with the Men's Ministry's in garage storage unit #1, completely vacating and cleaning out garage storage unit #4.
|
This put all of the churches' (Mission and Main) decorations in one place and accesible to both ministries. The "Holy Smoker" and outdoor portable speakers remain in unit #1 as well.

Retreat update
|
The Men's Club Retreat is firmly scheduled November 17- 19, 2023. It will be held again at The Franciscan Center in San Juan Bautista. They are not asking for any deposit at this time and will inform us about the room rates at a later date. I am continuing to work on a Retreat Master for the retreat. My first choice was not available.
