President’s Message for June 2023

Our June Meeting will be held in the Mission AV room (the south end of the Mission Museum) while the Church Hall starts its long-awaited renovations. The Museum AV room will be the venue for all Men’s Ministry meetings going forward until otherwise announced. Time and date are unchanged: first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.
|
Please plan to attend as we have very important information regarding the Founders Day Pancake Breakfast happening on Sunday, June 11. This is looking to be a great community event for both us and the parish providing we have the cooperation of our membership. As they say, many hands make for easy work.
|

Family of Faith BBQ Lunch – May 21, 2023
|
|
|
|
The Men of Saint Joseph Ministry supported the Family of Faith with barbequed hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chips, and snacks on a pleasant Sunday afternoon in the Holy Family Picnic area.
|
Many thanks to Lou Zenzen and Tom Leen (the cooks) as well as Louis Lau, Jerome Hubacek, Bill Irvin, Mike Gaffey, Ashley Weerpass, and the master of organization and food procurent, Skip Phair, for their time and effort in pulling this off seemlessly for the enjoyment of all.

Mission 226th Anniversary June 10th and 11th 2023
|
|
|
June 10th and 11th will mark the 226th anniversary of the founding of our Mission, “La Misíon del Gloriosisimo Patriarca Señor San José.
|
We will celebrate this rich heritage of our faith and community together!
|
At the Saturday 5:30 Vigil Mass and the Sunday 8:00AM and 7:00PM Masses in the Mission Church, we’ll ring the Mission Bells and process with our antique silver cross andcandle holders. Additionally, we’ll worship with special music featuring the historic Rosales Spanish Organ.
|
Following the Saturday Vigil, the Committee for the Restoration of the Mission San José will host light refreshments in the beautiful patio garden.
|
The celebration continues Sunday after the 8:00AM Mass with a delicious pancake breakfast hosted by the Men’s Ministry. We invite all Men’s Ministry members to attend and join us to serve our community and friends.
|
Finally, don’t miss the guided tour of our Mission on Saturday at 11:00 or Sunday at 1:00 (tour fee applies).

Saint Joseph Men's General Meeting Update
|
|
|
Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday June 6th at 7:00PM in the Mission Museum auditorium.
|
Our July general meeting will be on July 11th at 7:00 PM and will be fellowship only meeting (no speaker), we will BBQ hamburgers and the meeting will be held at the Holy Family Picnic area (by the sleeping Saint Joseph Statue). Come enjoy drinks and free food and connect with friends all members and prospective members are welcome. The date was changed from July 4th due to our national holiday and our members’ travel plans.

August- December general meetings will be held at the Mission Museum on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM. All members and prospective members are welcome.
