As we enter the month of May, our governor has started to relax some of the restrictions due to Covid-19. Fully vaccinated individuals can now go outside without a mask if gatherings are not large. The restrictions upon churches have also been relaxed per the Supreme court’s recent decision.
Father Anthony and Bishop Barber continue to invite us to return to in person mass especially if individuals have been vaccinated; they also advise us to be aware of the evolving requirements. You can read the Bishops message at https://www.catholicvoiceoakland.org/2021/041921/bishop.htm
The Bishop also writes that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday and Holy Day Masses continues until further notice. Although the faithful are dispensed from their obligation to attend Mass, they are encouraged to spend time in prayer on Sunday (such as following a livestream Mass or participating in a spiritual or corporal act of mercy).
Our May General meeting will be held remotely with Zoom on Tuesday May4th at 7:00PM (see logon instructions in this newsletter). Our speaker will be Dennis Dubro and his topic- “Jackson Hole and Yellowstone” a vacation story.
The Board is considering plans for moving to a hybrid in-person and streamed general meeting for summer. A survey will be sent later in the month to everyone to gauge comfort and support of membership to such an idea (see article title upcoming survey in this newsletter).
