It is amazing to think that the year is half over, and what a year it has been.
Today we enter the tenth week of “shelter in place “ and the restrictions it brings; a gleam of good news – today the governor has approved religious institutions starting to reopen with a plan for safe distancing and mitigation measures to curb the spread of this virus. His order requires church to have no more than 25% of capacity filled with worshipers utilizing face coverings and social distancing. Our bishop and parish will develop and communicate plans soon. We may also see the return of outdoor masses! Stay tuned for more on this in the coming weeks.
Our parish like many others has been streaming Sunday mass and details can be found at the Parish website http://www.saintjosephmsj.org
At our last general meeting in May, we were treated to an excellent presentation by Dennis Dubro on our Diocese and Mission San Jose. If you missed it you can view the presentation in the members section on the men’s Club website https://saintjosephmen.org/
This month at our June meeting will once again be remote utilizing the Zoom platform and we will be treated to a presentation from Skip Phair on the Panama Canal. Skip and his wife too a cruise to the canal and he will share some vacation pictures and information on the canal. It should be interesting.
The meeting will be on 2nd June at 7:00PM (details available on the website and in the newsletter).
I look forward to seeing you at the June meeting, stay healthy and safe.
