Welcome to August, famous for the dog days of summer, National Watermelon day (Aug 3rd) and National Smile Week (Aug.5th -Aug11th). It became famous for “dog days” because in Roman times in August the Star Sirius (dog star) rose at sunrise; Ok so much for trivia.
Our Zoom general meeting this month is on Aug 4th at 7PM and starting this month we will use the same log on credentials for the rest of the year. Please see the article on the general meeting or check our website. Our presentation this month is on an icon Silicon Valley company, Hewlett-Packard and it will be presented by me. The presentation promises to be entertaining and fact filled (see the article on it).
The eagle scout project for 2020 was completed this month, we watched Nathan Laus and his team set it up in the church and it looks great. Pictures and an article later in this newsletter.
Our parish is still streaming Sunday mass and we now are offering Eucharist every Sunday starting at Noon (see the parish website for the latest information).
Until next month, stay healthy and safe.
