After a very busy March and April for the Saint Joseph Men’s Ministry (SJMM) during which we supported parking direction for the all day 3rd Annual St. Joseph Conference along with other men from the parish in March; setting up speakers and provided traffic control, procession security for the Palm Sunday, April 13, procession from the Mission steps to the Main Church; and again on Holy Thursday before the 7PM Mass, April17; and finally again for the 8 PM Easter Vigil Mass, April 18, culminating with setting up the hall and hosting a champagne reception afterward for the new communicants. May looks to be no less busy …
It begins with the new Vietnamese St. Joseph Conference, May 2-3, where traffic control has been requested of us for a procession prior to the 6 PM on Friday, May 2nd; Traffic control and parking direction starting before the 8 AM Mass on Saturday, May 3rd and continuing after for the conference to follow. Mike Gaffey is the lead coordinating this as he did for the March St. Joseph Conference.
This is followed by traffic and pedestrian safety and control through the Dominican Sisters’ grounds for the Flores de Mayo Procession Saturday, May 17 staring at 4:30 PM in the Main Church parking lot.
Finally, on the very next day, Sunday, May 18, we have been asked to provide a BBQ lunch for the Family of Faith Ministry end of the year picnic. SJMM will take care of the hotdogs and burgers and its fixings only (lettuce, tomato, sweet relish, catsup, mayo & mustard; plates & utensils). The FFM will bring desserts, water, fruits, chips & more.
In the meantime, one of our members, Gary Dorighi, suffered what he calls a “minor” stroke while travelling in April. Please include his speedy recovery in your prayers.
