Jerome provided some great pictures in the December 3rd Newsletter, but here are some “rest of the story” highlights from the Men’s Ministry’s 2nd annual “Christmas in the Mission.” Starting with Mass, our commitment to the Parish was apparent, as we covered the Lector and Usher ministries and sat together with our spouses for the 5:30pm Mass. After Mass, it was a short walk over to the Mission Museum where an abundance of food, desserts, wine, and beverages awaited us, provided by both our members and our Women of St. Joseph partners. The Men’s Ministry supplied the traditional “Christmas Ham.”
Initially, folks gathered in the audiovisual room to “plate up,“ get their first pour of wine, and listen to Ashley’s Christmas Music. But eventually, the museum exhibits, some chairs/tables, and more food and desserts attracted many to explore the rest of the Museum. Nancy and Gary were available, between sips and nibbles, to answer questions about the exhibits, Mission history, and the ongoing Mission Museum Foundation Repair project.
Judging from the time folks started to trickle home, everyone seemed to have a good time! Huge thanks to Skip for providing the ham along with staying with Donna to clean up afterwards. Additional clean up help was provided by Jerome and Aimee, Tom and Lorraine, Greg and Adrienne, Ron Brazil, Pat and Brian, and maybe others as it’s all a distant blur! With everything cleaned up and the audiovisual seating restored to normal, the Old Mission was ready to take in our visiting public the following day! And a big thanks to Vanessa, Mission Administrator, for allowing us to host our gathering in this historic place!
