President's August 2026 Message

President's August 2026nMessage
I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful California weather and finding time to relax and recharge before summer slips away.

We recently had a wonderful evening at the parish’s volunteer thank-you dinner. The food and atmosphere were excellent, and the many volunteers present thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Father Thi also announced that the parish will hold the 2026 St. Joseph Festival on October 11. The Men’s Ministry will be barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers, and volunteers will be needed. Please mark your calendars!

This month we lost one of our long-term members. Kenny Zulawski was a faithful member for many years. He could always be counted on to attend our regular meetings and was consistently the first to step up and sell tickets for our annual St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner. At the 2008 dinner, Skip Phair presented him with an award as “Ticket Seller Supreme” for selling 64 tickets. Rest in peace, Kenny.

Looking ahead to August, our monthly meeting will be held on August 4. We will also provide traffic control for the Fatima procession on August 13, and we may be asked to assist with traffic control on Saturday, August 22, for the 8 a.m. Mass with the Bishop. I hope to see you at one or more of these events.

God bless, Tom

Men's Ministry July Fellowship BBQ- July 7th

July 7th BBQ and Game Night

July 7th BBQ and Game Night
Each year about summertime the Men’s Ministry forgoes its regular meeting format in the Parish Hall for a combination BBQ and Game Night. This year we invited all the men from the Parish, their spouses, the Young Adult Ministry, and Father Thi. Skip Phair pulled together some great hamburgers and brats for well over 20 “eager eaters.” Lou Zenzen cooked them to perfection with staging and serving help from Steve Radigan, Ashley Weerpass, and Ron Brazil. The games we set up were appreciated by a few of us before enjoying the BBQ. However, the unusually chilly July evening sent most of us into the Carriage House to finish eating and enjoy terrific conversations and fellowship.
