President’s May 2026 Message
May gives us a chance to catch our breath after the many hours spent volunteering in the lead up to the Easter activities. In appreciation for the volunteer efforts the parish is providing a Volunteers Appreciation Dinner for all Ministries on July 25th. so, mark your calendar for that date.
Spring is a great time to get outdoors and take advantage of the mild temperatures and longer days to enjoy the wildflowers and fresh air with a walk in the park. If you’re looking for something more adventurous let us know and we can organize a group trip to Mission Peak as we did last year.
Something less physically demanding but possibly more likely to impact on all our futures is AI (Artificial Intelligence). Learning about AI isn't just for tech specialists; it's becoming essential for everyone who wants to navigate and thrive in the coming decades. This is why you won’t want to miss our May Fellowship Night at 7:00 PM on May 5th, in the Parish Hall. Our presentation will be “Living and Thriving with AI” presented by Ashley Weerpass. Come enjoy the company of other Men in our Parish. Light food and beverages will be provided.

June 13th Meet Me at the Mission Founder’s Gala
2026 Mission Founder's Gala
Men’s Ministry members participate in many additional causes. A few of us are members of the Committee for Restoration of the Mission San Jose (CRMSJ). It is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to the authentic, non-sectarian restoration of Old Mission San Jose. I cordially invite you to our June 13, 2026 Founder’s Gala celebrating over 50 years of restoration and preservation projects for the Mission. Click on the HERE for tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and more information.
Last year, the proceeds from this event helped repair the Mission Museum adobe exterior walls, and we also launched the initiative to restore the Mater Dolorosa (Mother of Sorrows) painting now hanging in the Mission Church. For 2026, we are raising funds to restore the exterior of the Mission Church, Fremont’s dominant attraction and the pride of the Mission San Jose community. It is both a California Historic Landmark and a National Registered Historic Place. Our June 13th Gala is a vital component of our ongoing efforts to raise the funds necessary to preserve and revitalize this cherished landmark.
So, set aside the date; and talk with the rest of your Men’s Ministry brothers about buying a table!

Please keep in your prayers our members Pete, Gary, Axel, Greg and Herb and spouses Joan and Cece who are recovering from serious health setbacks, physical challenges, or healing from illness. May God grant them strength, comfort, and steady progress each day, and may they feel the support and care of our community surrounding them. Please also strengthen the loved ones who are caring diligently for them.
