President's Message - January 2026

President's Message - January 2026
I hope that you all had a Peaceful and Joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year. As we start another year we can look back over 2025, and note that under Steve’s leadership the Men’s Ministry continued our commitments to Spirituality, Service and Fellowship. We had a great retreat at the St. Francis Retreat center and were able to connect via Zoom with a few who could not attend in person. We attended Mass as a group in September and hosted the drinks and snacks on the last night of Las Posadas. We supported many service requests directing processions, traffic and parking, setting up the creche and hosting hospitality.

We’re starting out the New Year by hosting the hospitality service on the Jan 18.

We're continuing our regular monthly meeting schedule with the first meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 6, at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall. Join us as we plan how to support our parish community in the year ahead.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Tom

Creche and Christmas tree Set up

Creche and Christmas tree Set up
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony .

The 12 foot artificial pre-lit Christmas tree was set up by Steve Radigan and Lou Zenzen. A major challenge as the original tree stand could not be located and a stand had to be fabricated by Steve and Gary Dorighi. Once done it had to be tweaked to make it work somewhat well, the tree still had to be stabilized by tying it to the hand railings with coated wire rope. The pre-lit lights did not work very well and strands of clear lights had to be wrapped around the tree. Two days and 10 hours later it was up and working.

Creche Set Up

Putting up the Nativity scene went rather smoothly. We were granted access to the storage units during school hours and we quietly remove the stable pieces, statues and backdrop cloth within a couple of hours. Thanks to Steve Radigan, Tom Leen Ashley Weerpass, Ron Brazil and Lou Zenzen it went quickly.

Thanks to all and Happy New Year

Lou

Final Night Los Posadas 2025

Final Night Los Posadas 2025
The Mission extends a big “Thank You” to the Men’s Ministry for hosting the reception on the last night of Las Posadas. A large group of hungry participants exited the wonderful organ concert by Ronald McKean and singalong directed by Debbie Rossetto to enjoy snacks, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee. They lingered and enjoyed the hospitality, while the kids took a wack at the pinata. Steve Radigan, Skip Phair, Lou Zenzen, Ron Brazil, and Jerome Hubacek teamed up to make it happen.

The 5:30PM mass in the Mission was very well attended with overflow capacity in the main Church. The mass was also live streamed. The mass was celebrated by the honorable Bishop Michael C Barber.

For the occasion, the historic Silver candle holders and Crucifix was carried up at mass by Men from our Ministry, thank you to Steve Radigan, Greg Stephens and Ron Brazil for representing our community.
