Those of you who have helped assemble and tear down the Nativity Crèche at our church will understand that the current setup is difficult and requires at least four guys to adequately set it up. Furthermore, several bolts are bent and some of the timber needs sanding and planning.
Last year, we were fortunate that a member of the club who has a son in a scout troop was helping us with the setup. He noticed the concerns of the men working on the Crèche and he mentioned it to his son who was looking for a project for his Eagle Scout application.
The young man, Nathan Laus, worked with Lou Zenzen, a veteran of the Men’s Club to come up with a simpler and modern set up. The proposal was presented to our board and received unanimous approval. The club has agreed to sponsor the project to the tune of $200.
The project still needs approval from the environment committee and from Fr. Manny.
We are hopeful that this year we may have a different setup with which to admire and be inspired.
Thank you, Nathan and Lou.
