Presidents Message September 2020

Four months to the end of 2020; it is going fast and what a year it has been. Many will undoubtedly be glad to have this year behind us; Covid 19, the California Wildfires and the near evacuation for many of us was certainly very scary. The air quality continues to be challenging in many areas. Our hearts and prayers go out to all who have suffered a tragedy during this year.

I am looking forward to decorating for Christmas (for me in 60 days), a cheerful time of year and it always brightens up the house and my spirits. I am sure you too are looking forward to it. Share with us at our next general meeting how and when you plan to start decorating .

Our September General meeting will be on 1st of September at 7 PM and will again be a remote Zoom meeting.

The login remains the same as last month and details can be found on the website in the General Meeting article (look for the Zoom logo). Our speaker this month will be Dennis Dubro who will share the status of the current Space exploration programs. We will also share and hold a discussion brainstorming our club retreat later this year. Please come and tell your friends to attend the meeting too. We will start the meeting with 30 minutes of fellowship (keeping things a little light) from 7-7:30PM.

As I write this article, our COVID 19 cases in California are stabilizing or dropping depending on county. Our governor, Gavin Newsome, has authorized hair salons, barber shops and non-medical massage business to reopen with guidelines effective Friday 8/28/20.

We are hopeful that soon restrictions on in- person faith-based worship will also be eased and perhaps even on-site food gatherings.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at our September General Meeting and until next month, stay safe and stay healthy.
