For the Saint Joseph Men’s Ministry (SJMM), there was no let up in activity from a busy Spring. With the start of June, if we weren’t BBQing for some event, we were directing parking at another. I think we need to develop a new skill set. Nearly every week had something going on. St. Joseph Mission San Jose is a busy, active, vibrant place.
June activities that the SJMM served or participated in are, Fr. Anthony’s 10-year anniversary of his ordination – June 7, Mission Days – June 14-15, a Day of Recollection – June 21, and a ministry heads Meet ‘n Greet with the new pastor – June 25. The rest of June winds up with a Diaconate Ordination and a Movie Night fund raiser supporting Confirmation students, both on Saturday, June 28.
The SJMM was honored in June by having three of the board members lead the procession of the clergy featuring Bishop Barber before and after the June 14 5:30 Mission Days Mass bearing the original Mission silver crucifix and candle holders. Truly something special. The SJMM was further honored by inclusion in the fund raising/appreciation dinner after Mass.
As tensions in our world and our cities fray into confrontation, violence, war, it is a time for us to come together, pray to God for peace and for one another.
