A New Home for the Mission’s Silver
The processional silver crucifix and candlestick holders dating back to the original 1809 Adobe Church have been a beautiful sight to behold at each year’s Founder’s Mass celebration. After seeing them superbly displayed for visitors to see at other California Missions, we asked ourselves, “Why not here”? As it happened, Tobias Lee from Troop 120 was seeking an Eagle Scout project at the Mission, and we commissioned him to do the project. With some sponsorship from the Men’s Ministry, the Mission, and Tobias’ fundraising efforts, we moved forward with a conceptual design. After months of measuring, designing, rendering, choosing materials, re-fitting to a new space, constructing, and transporting, we see the gorgeous result. And just in time for the Mission Museum Renewal Project. A big “Thank You” to Tobias Lee, his family, and his supporting scouts.
