The Men’s Club annual retreat was held on November 18-20, 2022. In attendance, were 13 members of our club. Unfortunately, despite many attempts, we were not able to get a priest to conduct the retreat. Alternatively, we decided to do group discussions. The group discussions centered on the theme, “Living the gospel in our modern times.” We started by looking at the message of Jesus and understanding its implications. In the second workshop, we looked at the evolution of Christianity over the past 2000 years and what that suggested about the Church and society. The third discussion session dealt with our modern times and looked at a way to frame them. Our last discussion group was a call to action. As a result of our discussions: Who are we called to be? and What are we called to do? We resolved that we would like to be a more central element in the spiritual life of our parish. Further discussions will now ensue.
